How to play a video or an M3U playlist online

    1. Choose Open files to play videos or music from your device (pick several to make a queue), or paste a link to a video, an HLS stream (.m3u8) or an M3U playlist and press Play.
    2. Use the controls or the keyboard to play, pause, seek, change the speed or go full screen. Press ? to see every shortcut.
    3. Add subtitles: drop an .srt or .vtt file on the player or use Load .srt or .vtt, then adjust their size and delay.
    4. For playlists, search the list, filter by group, mark favourites with the star and pick up recent channels from the Recent tab.

    What Zebra Player can do

    • Local video and music player

Plays MP4, WebM, MOV, MP3, M4A, FLAC, WAV and other formats your browser supports, straight from your device. Several files become a queue.

    • M3U and M3U8 playlists

Opens IPTV and media playlists from a file or a link, with channel logos, groups, search, favourites and recently played. Lists with tens of thousands of entries stay fast.

    • HLS streams and live TV

Plays .m3u8 streams with a LIVE badge, go-to-live, quality and audio track selection and automatic recovery from network hiccups.

    • Subtitles that just work

Load SRT or VTT files, choose the track, size and delay. Old Central European subtitle files (Windows-1250) display correctly.

    • Study and editing helpers

Speed from 0.25× to 3×, A-B loop, frame-by-frame stepping and saving the current frame as a PNG image.

    • Resume where you stopped

Long local videos and on-demand streams continue from the last position. Everything is remembered only in your browser.

    • World radio and TV by country

Browse 13,307 radio stations from 153 countries and 8,780 TV channels from 130 countries, listed from the open Radio Browser and iptv-org directories. Radio keeps playing in a mini player while you browse.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is Zebra Player free?

Yes. Zebra Player is completely free, with no sign-up, no limits and no watermark.

    Are my videos uploaded?

No. Local files are played directly from your device and never leave it. When you open a link, your browser loads it straight from that server; ZEBRA never sees it.

Does Zebra Player include TV channels?

Zebra Player hosts no channels or streams. Its Radio and TV pages list free, publicly available stations by country from the open Radio Browser and iptv-org directories, and your browser plays them straight from the broadcaster. You can also open any playlist or stream you are allowed to watch, for example one from your TV or IPTV provider.

Why does my stream or playlist not play?

The most common reasons are: the link starts with http:// (secure pages cannot load insecure streams, so we try the https:// version automatically), the server blocks playback on other websites (CORS), the link has expired, or the stream needs a special app, user agent or referrer that browsers cannot send. Zebra Player shows which problem it detected.

    Which formats are supported?

Whatever your browser can decode. MP4 (H.264/AAC), MP3, M4A and WAV play in every current browser, and HLS (.m3u8) streams play everywhere too. WebM (VP9/Opus), Ogg, FLAC and AV1 play in most browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox); Safari support varies by version and device. MKV often works in Chrome and Edge. AVI, WMV, FLV, raw .ts streams and DASH (.mpd) are not supported.

My subtitles show strange characters. What can I do?

Zebra Player detects old Central European encodings such as Windows-1250 automatically. If letters still look wrong, choose a different Text encoding in Player tools; the file is decoded again instantly.

Can I play an M3U8 file from my computer?

If it is a playlist of channels or files, yes. If it is an HLS stream playlist (with #EXT-X tags), open it by its web address instead, because its video segments must be loaded from the server.

HLS playback uses hls.js (Apache-2.0, with bundled MIT-licensed helpers).
